Polarity is reality. Right/left, inhale/exhale, birth/death, trust/fear are but a few examples out of infinite possibility. When held in balance, polarity gives us necessary tension in which to channel energy and bear witness. When opposites are left unchecked, we may find ourselves off-kilter, injured, and/or misguided.
By exploring asana through physical polarities we can observe those spaces where we may not adequately navigate the tension between opposites, thus resulting in imbalance. Internal observation and visual analysis will give us some initial insights. The practice will then focus particularly on balancing strength and flexibility and accessing functional and full range of motion in our joints through a wide variety of asanas.
