every time i’ve asked for injuries before class this week… it’s been shoulders. specifically the rotator cuff.
my main suggestion is to be absolutely and 100% aligned in chaturanga, modifying with knees down, or skipping it all together for a while. Also stretches that open the armpit and front of the shoulder to bicep are essential, being sure that while you do that, you are also vigorously aligning the shoulder blade to the back body, essentially working the muscles IN ALIGNMENT. John Friends says this is one of the most healing ways of working with injury.
one of my teachers said student issues would come in waves… and she’s right…
shoulder injuries beware. ;)
