Arm balances are an incredibly rich and varied family of postures that require a sense of clarity in the core and fearlessness in the heart. Together we will look at the components of most traditional arm balancing asanas using the Breakti® Method, a system which draws from yoga and basic elements of breakdance.
Vinyasa can be translated as “placement in a special or particular way”. For newer and experienced teachers alike, this four-day immersion focuses on the various ways the “placement” of instruction can be refined using the philisophical guidelines of the Buddhist Noble Eightfold Path as a foundation. Particular emphasis will be placed on vinyasa sequencing and instructing with the breath, but the work as a whole applies to teaching in any style or lineage.
Vinyasa Yoga, which often emphasizes the fluid transitions between postures, can be an elegant and incredibly fun practice when all things (form, attention and effort) are consistently in their proper place.
In restorative work, we use yoga props (blocks, bolsters, belts) as our support system and foundation, so that the muscular and nervous systems may also relax and unwind.
A six day therapy immersion covering everything from asana to pranayama and meditation. Lots of self-inquiry and a good amount of discussion. Refine your practice to better serve yourself exactly where you are. Co-taught with Stephen Thomas.
