While feet are complex structures with 28 joints each side, hips and knees are far more simple albeit larger, with just one and two joints respectively. This simplicity is enforced by great strength in the surrounding tissues as the hip and knee carry the greatest amount of load (i.e. weight + force) in our body as we walk and run. Because of this massive loading, they can be sites of discomfort or injury.
Learn to assess the structures of knees and hips (and to some degree those joints above and below) in order to determine where you might have imbalances, weaknesses or blind spots. Use your own assessments to navigate your way through both classical yoga postures and also rehabilitative movements that encourage balance and holistic movement in both joints.
*As a note: when we find issues in our hips and knees we can often look below to the feet to find the source and the solution (I highly recommend the foot and ankle workshop as a pre-requisite to this session).
